Super jeep adventure, 3 days (5600)

With super jeeps, that are so characteristic for Iceland, we will get to places that is not reachable with the normal bus tours.

Come along on a tour that is something extraordinary! Our driver and guide will take us to the south with it's dramatically black beaches. Also the waterfalls  Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss with water from the glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. We go deeper in to the highland through the valley Thjórsándalur, we will visit the water filled crater Ljótipollur and the hot springs at Landmannalaugar. We take course towards Mount Hekla, the queen among the Icelandic volcanoes. If the weather permits we will drive 950 meters up on the side of the volcano and we will get a fantastic view over the landscape. We will off course also visit the classic sights in the "Golden circle"; Geysir, the waterfall Gullfoss and Thingvellir national park.

Day 1 - The South Coast and Mýrdalsjökull glacier
Black Beaches - Waterfalls - Gleaming Glaciers
This tour takes us via the greenhouse town of Hveragerði to the Atlantic Ocean and vast panoramic views of the ever-changing glacier flood plains which merge with the dramatic black beaches of Iceland´s south coast.

We then drive inland to two waterfalls, the graceful Seljalandsfoss, where the sure-footed can walk behind the cascade, and impressive Skógarfoss. Skógarfoss carries water from two powerful glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull which dominate the slopes of the active volcano Mount Katla. If Weather and volcanic conditions permitting, you will have the opportunity to experience snowmobiling, dog-sledding, a guided glacial hike or riding Icelandic horses. These activities are not included in the tour price. We arrive at your hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 - Landmannalaugar and Mount Hekla
The highlands - Hot Springs – Waterfalls - Volcanic Craters
Hrauneyjar lies at the the centre of the forbidding highlands and our route takes us first through the Thjórsádalur Valley stopping at Hjálparfoss, one of Iceland’s loveliest waterfalls, before continuing into the extraordinary mountainscape to the water-filled Ljótipollur crater and the hot springs of the Landmannalaugar oasis.
This is your opportunity to bathe in the natural hot waters or join a short guided hike before heading for active Mount Hekla, the queen of Icelandic volcanoes.
Weather and geological conditions allowing we will drive to a height of 950 meters up the side of the volcano to capture the astounding views. We arrive at your hotel in time for dinner.

Day 3 - The Golden Circle and Langjökull glacier
Gullfoss – Langjokull – Geysir - Þingvellir
This classic tour begins from the South towards the thundering rainbow-ringed Gullfoss, the golden waterfall.
From Gullfoss we drive to the mighty Langjökull glacier and also have the option of a snowmobiling, river-rafting or quad-biking. These activities are not included in the tour price.
We drive into the thermal landscape around iconic Geysir with the erupting hot springs. Onwards to serene Lake Laugarvatn and to Thingvellir, our National Park and site of the World’s oldest parliament.
Thingvellir National park is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The entrance to Thingvellir is a walk through the Almannagjá gorge, visible evidence of plate tectonic activity on the European-American fault-line which still today is pushing the two continents apart and creating Iceland, geology’s youngest country.
Return to Reykjavík in time for dinner. Depending on the season and weather there is every chance you will see the Midnight Sun or the Northern Lights.
